Job Title: High School Credit Recovery Paraprofessional
Job Summary:
The High School Credit Recovery Paraprofessional works under the supervision of certified teachers and administrators to support students in recovering academic credits necessary for graduation. This position provides individualized or small-group assistance, monitors student progress, and ensures that students are engaged in their coursework to successfully complete the credit recovery program.
Key Responsibilities:

Student Support:
- Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring to students enrolled in credit recovery courses.
- Assist students with assignments, understanding course material, and completing required coursework.
- Motivate students to stay engaged and focused on their studies.
- Monitor student progress in recovery programs and communicate with teachers about any concerns.

Program Support:
- Assist in the administration of credit recovery programs (e.g., online platforms, blended learning, or remedial instruction).
- Help organize and maintain student records, ensuring all necessary documentation is up to date.
- Provide feedback to teachers on student performance and areas of improvement.
- Facilitate a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student success.

- Assist the teacher in maintaining an orderly and positive classroom atmosphere.
- Supervise students during class time, study hall, or in computer labs as needed.
- Address student behavior issues according to the school's policies.

Communication:
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress.
- Support teachers in preparing materials and setting up learning activities.

Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with grading assignments, tracking completion of course objectives, and maintaining accurate student records.
- Help students with technical difficulties when using online learning platforms or tools.

- Assist with general classroom duties, such as copying materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining supplies.
- Participate in professional development as required by the school district.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Previous experience working with students in an educational setting, particularly in credit recovery or tutoring, is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Basic knowledge of educational technology tools, such as online learning platforms, and computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to assist students with special needs, as required.
- Must be able to work with a variety of student abilities and needs.
